Another Mystery Man Shows up; Where do They Come From?

Homeless in Amsterdam

It isn’t the first time we’ve heard of this. First it was a man from Croatia that hid his identity from police. We now know who he is, but what was his real motivation? Now there’s another US man who’s been arrested and he doesn’t want anyone to know who he is, either.

He was arrested on July 1st for trespassing in a Utah parking garage. He’s very well mannered, has lightly graying hair and a stubbly gray beard. He’s articulate and polite.

He’s thought to be in his sixties and he’s had a very pleasant characterthe entire three weeks he’s been incarcerated. He says the food is good and he doesn’t even mind the uniform. He gets three squares and even clean clothes every day.

John Doe Keeps Them Asking

It wouldn’t be the first time a homeless person tried going to jail to get a warm bed and hot food. Maybe there’s another state that wants this guy, or maybe he’s hiding from someone and wants the protection of the jail.

Maybe he’s on sex offender registries somewhere, or some other kind of registry. Maybe he’s wanted in another country?  The man has been very guarded about his past and where he came from and he was too smart for the police department’s trick of giving him a prepaid calling card to call home with. He thanked them for the card, but he called nobody.

The police are completely baffled. They’re asking the Utah public to take a look at him and see if anyone recognizes him. He’s pretty confident that, somehow, nobody will.

Low Tech Stuff Still Useful, in a Way

In these days of high tech everything, it’s hard to imagine that there’s anything that can’t be done, somehow. Technology keeps doubling and tripling itself every year and gadgets keep getting smaller and smarter.

However, sometimes it’s the low tech stuffthat surprises us, teaches us something we hadn’t seen coming. For instance, take Bavarian couple Rudi and Beate Greithanner, who recently discovered an ancient system of tunnels under their farm with some very low tech equipment. In fact, it’s so low tech that you can’t really call it equipment.

It was their cow. She was grazing in the pasture and suddenly she sank in the wet ground up to her hips. Everyone around came to help get the cow out of there, leaving a gaping hole in the ground.

Local Historians Baffled

Rudi went and examined the hole. It looked bigger under the surface. He stuck his head down into it and looked around – then he got down inside it and found a damp, dark tunnel that descended diagonally into the earth.

When others heard of the farm anomaly they came to see the great tunnel. It went 82 meters and connected to another tunnel, revealing a network of underground tunnels believed to be built in the 18th century. They tried to guess what the tunnels could have been for.

Some think the tunnels were where they punished people and some thought maybe animals were kept down there. But, no feces or anything that could give them a hint; it appeared to be swept clean, which they think meant it was for spirits. The tunnels are still a mystery to this day.

First Death Sentence Given To Egyptian Riot Police

Egyptian president. Mr. Mun’em was sentenced “in absentia” because his whereabouts are currently unknown.

Whether you agree with the handing down of this death sentence or not, or for that matter, if you even agree with the idea of war, no matter what form it takes (revolutions are simply civil wars; however, most revolutions have a shorter duration than “regular” wars), the fact remains that war does have rules. Some people will also disagree on this, but it doesn’t make it less true.

Mahmud Abdul Mun’em was sentenced to death because he did not act in a military manner; he did not know, nor did he most likely care, at whom he was firing. He did not know if the people hit by his indiscriminate firing were protest leaders, or for that matter if they actually had anything to do with the protests whatsoever. What if they were simply Egyptian citizens trying to find a safe place during the most volatile stages of the protests?

What if they weren’t even Egyptians? What if they were tourists, foreign reporters, or government officials from other countries? Most likely the crowds being shot into were predominantly Egyptian, but still, if he did not have a specific target, there is no telling who he may have killed.

War has rules. Guns, cannons, rockets, and other weapons should be fired at specific targets, and there should be a reason for firing at those targets.

NATO Aircraft Strike Libya

Aircraft flown by NATO pilots and manned by NATO personnel have made several strikes at different strategic military points in Libya. Some of the targets are where known pro-Ghadafi forces are said to be located.

The fact that NATO (the letters stand for “North Atlantic Treaty Organization) aircraft is being used in these air strikes means that no one particular country is involved. That’s because NATO is an alliance of 28 different countries. In other words, if NATO is involved, personnel from any or all of the member countries can be pressed into service.

Using NATO forces can actually be a good thing. No one country can be “blamed” for starting hostilities or providing assistance to a country where uprisings and other types of unrest are occurring.

Further, a country’s government may target a specific NATO country for retaliation, but if this does occur, other NATO countries will come to that member country’s aid. The military of the targeted area will not have to bear the burden of defense alone.

NATO was originally formed as a result of the North Atlantic Treaty which was signed on April 4, 1945. As was mentioned earlier, if one NATO country is attacked, the other member countries help with the defense. This is known as a “collective defense system”.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the number of NATO countries expanded as several of the newly formed Eastern European nations joined the alliance. Today, these countries work in counter-terrorism situations (as a result of September 11) as well as addressing any current situations.

Government Needs To Act Faster At The Time Of Natural Disasters

Natural disaster is the time when the affected area feels completely collapsed for a few days as they go though the tough times of loss of man, property and job. It is at this time that they need government to act faster so that they can help the people to come out of those situations at the earliest.

In such a scenario, it is important that the government arranges for food immediately so that no deaths occur due to hunger. It is seen that a lot of people are victimized by the natural calamity such as earthquake, flood, and land sliding and so on.  There are people who do not die during these disaster but they die due to hunger as they do not get anything to eat during these times. Thus, food should be given first priority.

After food, the arrangement of shelter should be done without delay. All the people should be taken to a safe place away from the affected area so that they can heave a sigh of relief. The arrangement of food, clothing and other daily necessities should be done till the conditions at the affected place are restored. It is also important that immediate steps are taken to restore the conditions at the affected place.

In this way, it is important that government acts faster during natural disasters so that the lives of the survivors of calamity can be saved. Citizens of the country should also help the government in money, kind or by volunteering to offer their services during natural calamity. This way, the whole country would be ready to face any calamity that takes place.

Government For People

Government is chosen by people they vote for their own government. In many countries except for few who are still under dictatorship elections are held and it is the responsibility of the citizen to choose the right government. But how many people in a country utilize this power hardly few. In democratic countries it can be observed that the majority of people who vote are from lower classes and there are very few from the upper class. The reason for this ration is that the poor person has a hope that if he succeeds in choosing the right government then he might gain something from it but for a rich person he does not need anything and feels no necessity of voting.

If the whole nation votes and selects its own government then the decision will be genuine and of course the chosen government will be the best as well. Its governments responsibility to look after the progress if the country but that should not mean that they forget about the lower class people who have chosen them as well. In developing countries the poverty and illiteracy is the worst condition. Children are starving without food, its Governments responsibility to reach this sector and help them.

We cannot blame everything on Government we are equally responsible for the deaths of innocent children due to insufficient food and people who are not able to find work because they are not literate. If a responsible citizen tries to help one person then the country will progress at a lightning speed. Everyone should try and take the responsibility of one poor person then it will not take much time to become a developed country.

War Not A Solution

Every country has faced war and has tasted it well. No country has ever liked it as the war has always left a country shattered and downtrodden. War is not a solution for any issue. The whole generation is well educated and can sit and resolve all the major problems without sacrificing innocent lives, who fight for the government and lose their lives. These soldiers who sacrifice their lives have a family back home. No other person can imagine the level of agony that family feels when their family member’s leaves on his legs and returns back in a coffin. Soldiers who are fighting in the war and sacrificing everything some times are even not aware of the reason they are fighting.

The best example for this was during World War 2, peace was declared but in some remote cities and countries the news did not reach and they kept fighting for days together even after the war ended. War leave the next generation into misery and with the technology used on the enemy county is so bad that the coming generation is affected due the chemicals used in the rocket or missiles.

Peace is a solution for every issue, there is nothing that cannot be resolved with a cool mind. But yes it is even true that there are evil minded people in the society who initiate things and later leads into war. It is predicted that if a war like World War 2 is happens again then the world would definitely end. Due to the advanced weapons developed these days will leave no country alive. Never encourage war peace is the solution for all problems war sheds blood and does no good.

War Or Peace – An Insight

Recent global political scenario has shown that masses have the power to turn your regime upside down if their patience is tested. To be honest it is the common man who bears the brunt of all the decisions by government. Common man is surrounded with inflation, rising cost of living, social responsibilities and the heavy taxation. Common man wants peace; he is the one who is most impacted in military wars between the countries. Political powers are loggerheads on becoming the super powers of the world.  However they fail to understand that war can only bring in destruction. It can never bring about prosperity.

History has proved it time and again that peace alone triumphs. Spending millions of rupees on arms and ammunitions and military warfare is not going to make you a super power. With majority of funds being utilized for enhancing ammunitions, the economy suffers a blow. This amount could have been invested in cutting down costs and reducing the prices of basic amenities. People do not want to live in terror of break out of war. Warring countries are at a loss of human resources and financial resources. Not to mention the distress faced by civilians. Countries and Governments should understand that common man may revolt against this military supremacy and overthrow the ruling parties.

Protecting one’s country against terrorist attacks is important. Government should allocate adequate funds to this purpose however it should also ensure that in course of safeguarding one’s country they do not make other countries insecure about nuclear attacks. One can achieve lot more through peace talks as compared to war. Investing in arms and ammunitions and upgrading military services in order to protect the citizens in case of any attacks. There is no doubt that peace always pays as compared to war. Political leaders across the world should strive together to make this planet a peaceful place to live in. They should form communities that could foster peace and resolve internal conflicts amicably. Signing cease fire agreements are also a good way to promote peace.

Bankruptcy an International Concern

Many people know that bankruptcies have been on the rise in the United States over the last several years. With the financial crisis of 2008 and subsequent recession, financial problems quickly became a major national concern. However, declaring bankruptcy is hardly an American problem. Bankruptcy rates are on the rise internationally, affecting individuals, families, businesses and corporations around the globe.

This is a natural result of the global economy. In the past, the benefits of a global economy have been positive; cooperating companies trade goods and services with each other creating a mutually beneficial economic environment. As these trends have continued in recent decades, more and more countries’ economies have begun to rely on the imports and exports from other nations. However, once the economic situation became negative, the impact quickly became created a financial crisis within each individual nation. As a result of these global economics, this recession has truly become a global recession, affecting every nation and most, if not all, families.

Many people have turned to bankruptcy and other resources for relief and to find financial assistance and support. While there are many options available to those in crisis, bankruptcy is a viable option for financial relief for many people. Bankruptcy can be quite a bit of work, and may mean a change in lifestyle in the short term, but the goal of bankruptcy is to achieve financial health in the long run. However, it is also a personal decision that should be made only after thoroughly researching the issue, evaluating the pros and cons, and deciding on which solution works best for each individual need or family. Online resources, such as www.legal-bankruptcy.com can help individuals and families learn more about bankruptcy issues and provide direction for their research. Financial strain is certainly not a unique problem, but the correct solution for you should be unique to your needs.
